Thanks to Peter Butterworth 2762470, for this photograph from August 1956.
Peter says "I wonder if anybody on this photo recognises themselves?
That's me circled and the lad in the middle of the front row was called Peter (?surname)
and came from Heywood. The lad to his left was a Welshman. The lad to my right
was called (?forename) Corbishley, a very funny man.
This was taken July or maybe early August 1956. Sadly (not that we missed him)
the other DI got demobbed just before we did our Drill Test prior to
passing out. We had a lot more confidence in him than the Corporal
in the photo. I don't think it was his Scots accent with hindsight,
just the timing of his commands. So we did terrible on the test when we
all reckoned we could have won it with the other DI."
