The small commemorative garden in the Country park.
I'm advised by Andy Griffin, Flt Lt RAFVR(T) OC 63 (Bridgnorth) Sqn ATC "that on Battle of Britain Sunday 2006, the cadets and staff of 63 Bridgnorth Squadron ATC laid a wreath at the memorial in the Stanmore Country Park. This will now be an annual event."
The plaque in the commemorative garden reads "This memorial garden marks the site of the former Royal Air Force station Bridgnorth and commemorates those members of the R.A.F, W.A.A.F, Commonwealth and Allied Forces who served here between 1939-1963. |
