Cricket match in 1953

Information is based on a letter from Mr Ted Sisterton to the Bridgnorth Journal dated 6 Jan 2006.
The cricket match, on 28 July 1953, was between the RAF XI and the nearby village of Claverley. Ted was the Captain of the RAF team and had just bowled a hat-trick. He is seen second from the right in the picture. Others shown include Bert Smith, Flt Lt Warburton, Jim Costin, Ken Bowles or Reece Newsom. The opening bowling partner was Peter Broadbent of Wolverhampton Football Club.
The match took place on Bridgnorth Cricket Club ground. Most of the buildings shown in the photograph can still be identified today.
